In the yachting world, telemedicine should not be used just for emergencies.  You should be able to use your telemedicine service as your ‘walk in clinic at sea’ just like you can go to an acute care clinic ashore.

And like that acute care clinic, the doctor should be able to examine you using various tools to accurately diagnose the issue and determine a course of treatment for you. Whether it is a runny nose, a constant headache or you are having a tough time coping with a stressful situation and you want to talk with a professional, you should not have to wait until your next port of call.

DigiGone® just released its digiMed® Standard Telemedicine kit which is ideal for yachters.  Small, rugged, and simple to use like all their other products, the digiMed Standard is your ‘walk in clinic at sea’.  There is no need for physicians to purchase any special equipment or install any applications. It is provider agnostic, meaning they simply access a secure web portal using their PC, MAC, or mobile phone, and you are connected!

The digiMed Standard comes with eight medical devices and tools and is priced at under $8,000.00.  Some of our customers have one for their main vessel, and one for each tender.

And as an enhancement option, DigiGone now offers their Augmented Reality headset which replaces the kit’s tablet.  Put the headset on like you do a hat, turn it on and you are securely connected to your care provider.  All the medical devices and cameras send their data through the headset to the doctor just like the tablet. It is 100% voice command controlled, freeing up your hands to provide better care to your family or crew member.
